Booking, vehicles, mobility devices, pricing and recurring programs — the questions we're asked most often about ADA and wheelchair accessible transportation in the Bay Area.
Booking and scheduling
- How do I book accessible transportation with RideConnect?
- Submit a quote request with your pickup and drop-off locations, date, time, passenger count and mobility needs. A coordinator reviews it and responds with vehicle options and pricing.
- How much notice do you need?
- Individual wheelchair van trips can often be arranged at shorter notice. Group movements, lift-equipped buses and event transportation should be booked as early as possible, and recurring programs benefit from several weeks of planning.
- Can I book on behalf of someone else?
- Yes. Family members, care coordinators, case managers and organization staff book with us regularly. Include the passenger's mobility details so we assign the right vehicle.
- Do you serve trips that cross county lines?
- Yes. Cross-Bay and inter-county trips are common — for example the Peninsula to the East Bay, or Marin into San Francisco.
Vehicles and mobility devices
What we do and don't provide
- Is RideConnect an ambulance service?
- No. RideConnect provides accessible passenger transportation only. We do not provide ambulance, stretcher or emergency medical transportation, and we do not provide clinical care during trips.
- Can you transport a passenger to a hospital appointment?
- Yes, if the passenger needs transportation rather than medical care en route. Accessible transportation to outpatient appointments, therapy and day programs is routine work for us.
- Do you provide attendants or caregivers?
- Our drivers provide safe boarding, securement and assistance to and from the vehicle. Personal care attendants and caregivers are welcome to travel with the passenger.
